Halloween III by genocyber Halloween III by genocyber
Once every while,I come along and prove how much of a friggen NERD I am.This is a tribute piece to Halloween 3 Season of the Witch. The only Halloween film that never had Michael Myers in it.Yes,you heard me correctly. Why? Well,if you really want to know its because John Carpenter(creator of the first two) wanted to make a series of movies about the halloween holiday, not mr shatner mask. But that didn't turn out so well so here we are.

Their was like,no good art of it out there sooo...yeah.Me filling in the void for a damn good movie that is the black sheep in a classic horror franchise.

This movie REALLY P'd me off. I can't believe Carpenter thought of that. It really makes my heart sink just the thought of it. I HATE the movie, & in my eyes, it doesn't exist.

Get a life idiot. It was WAY better than Halloween II (1981) that was an embarrassment to all involved. Just a useless waste of time, cash in. Now get back to whining in the imdb boards - this is deviant arts.

Well for those that are confused why isn't Michael in this movie, here's the story:

John Carpenter had enough of Michael Myers as he killed him off in part 2 of Halloween and wanted his story to be done with perminately. He came up with a concept to transform the franchise into a big screen anthology of different horror stories like "Twilight Zone", "Creepshow", "Heavy Metal", "Grindhouse", "Tales from The Crypt" and "Night Gallery" about the title holiday every year. Unfortunately he didn't tell audiences this concept or marketed to the public thus the idea ended a quick death once the audience was confused when it premiered and fans demanded Michael back.

I still think it could be the cover of a comic. Looks much better in color. gives the bg some depth.

My, my, well that certainly brings a suitable light to the corporate background and sense of revenge behind the movies. It's curious to note it's black-sheep status among the Halloween series... Though I have never been altogether familiar with it, myself.

You've done well to use the classical industrial building in the background, it seems to lend that hopeless, detached sense to the more classical (doomed) trick-or-treaters in the foreground. The bolt of snaking lightning is a wonderful contrast to the deathly shades of the rest of the image. In addition, the stacks of television screens and their iconic death-pumpkin give that sense of columns leading into a foresaken temple. (In another note, the perspective/angle of the screens makes it seems as if the 'treaters are already lying there dead. How fitting. =p The trail leading up to the factory seems more like a tendril of harvested, innocent, spirit being drawn into the maw of the Silver Shamrock factory.)

Overall, quite an effective image, Geno. I rather like it, especially in that it's artwork of a largely-ignored movie.
