This is a very rare picture you will see from me.A tribute to the Canada games as the mascots parade about with the torch.
I'm not a sports person but I felt these games were very special and that in light of them ending I present this piece.
Tried to keep the mascots as close to their style as possible.I'm sure it would have been easier to draw them on Flash but I'm an idiot who does things the hard way.
Enjoy.

This could make a neat t-shirt.
It's early, but that goal by young Sid will likely be Canada's #1 News Story AND Canada's #1 all-networks Sports Play of the Year come Christmas Eve.
I never thought that would happen for us, but it's just crazy that it did. And I Love It!
And I'm NOT sorry to say all this either...Canada is here to stay forever, and the world is better off for that.
You'd noted that this was a different sort of work for you; I can see how, and I can see why. At times it is not complexity which is daunting, but simplicity - with less to discern, the integrity of the style becomes very easy to dismantle, as it's inconsistencies are more clear.
There is somewhat of a charming joy to this picture. It comes not only from the expressions of the mascots, but also their motion and color, relative to the rest of the scene. Each character has some trait which gives them a sense of depth, but also movement in their cheering. Starting from the top left, Sumi is partially obscured by Quatchi's arm, giving him a forward motion; the curve of his hat's brim also accents this. Quatchi's size and lumbering gait set him in clear action, and I find that his earmuffs give his head and body more of a sense of volume (as he is largest, the flat colors of his torso would otherwise make him seem most two-dimensional). Miga, having struck rather the same pose as Quatchi, benefits from the same forward charge; also like Quatchi, her green scarf provides some variety.
Although brown and green are prominent in their natural hues, the gray background is something I liken more to both the snowy season and passing shade as well as the steely tones of artificial things. The hard geometries of the handheld Olympic torch and the Olympic Flame in the background bring to mind the intense logistics and difficult, creative effort and spirit that was placed into making the Games possible, but also making them come alive. The soft, roundedness of the mascots, the linear nature of the surroundings, and the complex, chaotic lines of the flames are three strong points in your chosen composition here.
I feel you have made quite a suiting picture regarding the outcome of the 2010 Olympics. It is both simple and direct, without sway or tugging opinion. It would seem to exemplify the basic spirit which most would hope for: the joy of the experience, despite any hardships found therein, and the success of a time which will stand as good memories for many.
Thank you for showing this, especially given it's difference compared to your general works, Genocyber.
